Paradise Series

My new series of paintings is inspired by Chinese hand painted wallpaper. I paint the canvas with a matt acrylic primer to give the appearance of a linen background then create a design combining flowers, pIants, insects, and creatures seen in my garden or countryside around me. Using glazes of highly pigmented satin acrylic. I aim to capture the vibrancy and luminousity in British nature usually only portrayed in paintings of tropical flowers and birds.
